If you are unable to join one of the Live Earth Run for Water Events around the world, we welcome you to sign up for Friends of Live Earth and create your own!

In 2007, thousands registered with Live Earth to help contribute to distributed events that occurred simultaneously worldwide. These Friends of Live Earth events helped to make 07.07.07 historic. Join us this year!

We are excited to have you join us in our effort to combat one of the most pressing issues of the 21st century – the global water and climate crisis, and encourage the world to continue the pursuit for solutions.

Ideas for 2010 Friends of Live Earth events in your community:
• Organize a 6km fundraising run or walk for water
• Have a house party with a water theme
• Set up recycling for your home or apartment complex and hold a kick-off event
• Hold a concert, musical performance or dance
• Partner with your local water/power company and have a compact florescent light bulb and/or water filter giveaways
• Host a panel discussion with local NGOs or professors from a local college on water or other environmental issues
• Host a screening of water or environmental films - http://friendsofliveearth.org/profiles/blogs/video-resources
• Organize a group for a beach or river cleanup
• Organize a potluck dinner or picnic with a water theme
• Hold a viewing party when the Live Earth Run for Water is broadcast
• Create a flyer with suggested solutions to save water and help combat the global water crisis and distribute them in your neighborhood - on 100% recycled or eco-friendly paper (see example below)
• Have a letter writing party, sending messages to your local politicians, utility and/or water companies about the need for more green, water saving practices
